In the summer of 2024, our family grew a little furrier, yet again! Karry spotted "Star" online at Homeward Bound Dog Rescue, and it was love at first sight. I think ours was one of the quickest adoption "interviews" ever.  When they heard we had a russel and a husky at home already, we were approved and headed home within an hour, dog in tow! 

Freya, or the name that seemed to fit her the best, quickly made the place her own! She got along famously with Maya and Kora but was soon glued to Kora's hip. They're a whirlwind of playful energy, always wrestling, chasing each other, the birds, and causing adorable chaos across the farm. 

Since Freya came to us from a shelter, her background was a bit of a mystery. Homeward Bound listed her as a husky, but we weren't convinced. Freya didn't have the typical Husky coat or look that Maya had.

So curiosity got the better of Craig, and he sent a DNA sample to an online company to uncover her true heritage. You can find a link to her results below.

We don't know what our lives would be like without her now. She's become another much-loved member of our family, and we are so glad that she found her way to us.
